Congratulations to Sarah + Scott on their wedding!

I had SO much fun with these two!  They had a small, intimate wedding in central NJ, and they had their heart set on taking their wedding portraits on the beach at sunset.  Say no more!  As most people in NJ know, we don’t get many sunsets over the water here on the east coast.  Luckily, there are a number of great beachs in NJ that have small bays where you can get a gorgeous sunset over the water.  After some searching, Scott sent me over the coordinates to a tiny beach near Keyport.

It could not have been more perfect.  First, let me tell you a little about these two.  Sarah is from Germany, and is a total model.  She is such a natural in front of the camera!  She was fun-loving, carefree, and had the best time running around on the beach with Scott.  Scott seems like such a great fit for her – he’s laid back, go with the flow kind of guy, and the two of them were so insanely cute together.  Scott and I bonded over our mutual interest in chemistry, although being more of an organic chemist myself, I suppose I can forgive the fact that his preference is inorganic.  But I digress.

From the start of the session, until the very end, these two were up for anything – that’s my kind of couple!!  They had come prepared with a bottle of champagne, and it felt like less of a photo session and more of a party.  They wanted the photos to express not only their love for each other, but also their fun-loving nature.  I was so excited to be able to capture the two of them just chasing each other on the beach and having a good time.

When I casually suggested jumping into the water towards the end of the night, they were TOTALLY up for it.  It was pretty hot, so honestly I couldn’t blame them for wanting to dive right in!  I couldn’t have been more excited!  The lighting was perfect, the beach was empty, and this adorable couple ran right into the water.  Half the time it was like I wasn’t even there!

At the end of the night, Sarah told me that this had been her favorite part of the day and I nearly cried.  It’s 100% my goal for every couple to have FUN while taking photos.  She said that earlier in the day had been a bit stressful, but once we started taking photos they had such a great time and were so happy.  It was the best compliment that I could’ve received.  I’m so glad I could be there for their special day, and I was so excited to deliver their gallery, which turned out to be one of my favorites.

Check out some of their photos below!
